for that gift, some must be taken | 16 August 2004 | 2:42 pm

uck - there is nothing i hate more than an unripe banana. at least with an over-ripe banana one can make banana bread, but with unripe bananas all i make are grimaces.

pretty pretty SF town, oh why are you so dirty? one would think that with all of the hiphiphippies around the streets would be likity-clean, but no. berkeley is pretty damn clean, yes, aside from the occasional cluster of homeless and gutterpunks, but it is not dirty like market. every morning shop tenders wash down teh sidewalks outside and scrub with brooms. i suppose if i were to arrive at work later in the day i would have a much better impression - when i walk past the munici-pals are still nudging the homeless awake with boot tips. due to the lack of frost/snow, the homeless here tend not to freeze to death.

my garden, my lovely plants have all died - well, almost all. we have had constant fog for weeks and due to the ability to not properly dry off, let alone glimpse a few rays, they have lain to rot. sadness and misery, woe is the garden. the edible flowers have survived, we'll see if anything else can pull through once the sun rears its ugly head once more. it was beautiful last night, however, and clear. i *heart* the fog, mind, and understand for that gift some plants must be taken. all in all, happiness.

last night around 8pm tt and i took a stroll in the clear and beautiful evening. 6 blocks to the ocean and the most amazing sunset ever - we watched birds soar (looked like pelicans...?) and float (the ravens catch ocean wind streams and hover in place, seemingly to watch the view.) in silence, nature took us in, swallowed us and regurgitated us whole. breathtaking, actually, the combination of sunset, the violence of waves ...and the realization that we can walk down to the ocean anytime we choose. holy mackerel, or flounder, or...whatever batman. after the sun had set we hopped a bus back up the hill and to a mel's (mel's diner, you dig?) for espresso shakes and fries. it was the best night ever.

our view of the ocean - note the fog and more fun sutro baths pics some wealthy whack job created the public baths for the people of SF in 1896 - burnt down in 1966 though (under mysterious circumstances) but the golden gate park people left its skeletal cement ruins for us to climb around on. groovy. fun that i fell for this place on my very first trip to SF over 7 years ago, and now out of coencidence and convenience we happen to live right by it. all is rock.

Oh ... sweetness...
sweetness, I was only joking When I said
by rights you should be

Bludgeoned in your bed...
