black and white madness | 29 March 2002 | 8:58 am

in your easter bonnet,
with all the frills upon it,
you'll be the grandest lady in the easter parade.

i'll be all in clover
and when they look you over,
i'll be the proudest fellow in the easter parade.

on the avenue,
fifth avenue,
the photographers will snap us,
and you'll find that you're in the rotogravure...!

oh, I could write a sonnet
about your easter bonnet,
and of the girl I'm taking to the easter parade.

fred astaire and judy garland...

a little secret of mine: i used to watch easter parade every year -- the musical. occasionally the actual macy'sparade and such, but mostly holidays, for me, meant black and white madness.

(someday i'll have cable and that old musical/movie channel - yeah!)

so amazing! the romance, art and style of the first half of the 1900s still fascinates me.

another secret: that is one of the reasons i took up ballroom dancing...(TT wants to learn to waltz and tango -- does that get him more coolboyfriend points??)

humms and humms through the day...
