its not uncommon | 19 November 2005 | 2:42 pm

i write this afternoon whilst the husband sleeps. we await 3pm and the end of sloth - well, i await, he just dreams the time away.
we picked up our free 55gal fish tank today and i cannot wait to get started (btw, are angelfish fresh or saltwater? - the tank had Afish in it before, and i am uncertain as to how to proceed - cant use the rocks if they were in saltwater, y'know. - Brian?) i long to fill the tank and wait for the fresh water to age and settle, for the rocky dirt to inspire microlife, for plants to take root - for the addition of little breeding fish (all the better to feed the larger fish, yes?) and for the fresh water crabs, and their tendency to eat up the dead fish with pasta precision. i long for a micro-ecosystem, and so do the cats.
first, however, the move, which is in no way initiated or inspired by ads we've seen. oh to have a large warehouse to live in, space to dance and plant herbs and scream. why is it so difficult to find a new home? we found our last two and were packed and moved within 15 days - it's been about two months now. i suppose we do not have to move now, so we're being more picky (aside from the fact that there are a few spider webs around the house i am quite fond of...)
did you read the story about the woman getting her eye ate out by ants in a hospital? please do. "It's not uncommon for ants to attack diabetic patients..."
