with trowel in hand | 16 March 2007 | 3:13 pm

have not had time to read journals let alone write in over a month - will catch up soon! until then, here's an invite to my garden tomorrow, not that most of you can come (n'at)...*sigh*...

With trowel in hand, she pontificated, Egads! Wheres my beer?
She squinted underneath the crouching rosebushes, into the snickering apple trees and thoroughly inside the red watering can (where she had found various other items including the little dancing Jack and Jane) - but no beer!
My goodness, swore the girl with unruly, curly red hair and dirty knees, Well, shit.
What was she to do? What was a Saturday afternoon without beer, not to mention without friends and gardening? She was in a quandary - a puzzle - a sticky situation with seemingly no out or over. Grinning hungrily, the feral cat panted in the shade, and waited, whisking his tail through the pansies, twisting their little, simple heads.
Ba-Ling! Be-Long! and up the porch stairs she went, leaving shovels and rakes as twiddle-sticks in her wake, and the snarfing cat licking his lips.
The fish rolled their eyes and fluttered their thumbless hands, Havana preened and picked at his teeth - today would indeed be a good day he whiskered.
Meeerro000o0o0o00wl! and the door opened, and she was saved. The friends had arrived with fresh beer in tow - the sun would shine its gentle winter rays, the earth would open itself and embrace new shoots, the thirst would be quenched. As she led them back to the patio the seedlings stretched their wispy arms out to the path, reaching and rustling with life.

yes - well be out in the garden all afternoon, my friends. come have a beer and if you wish take shovel in hand and sculpt with us. well have snackies and some beer - and your friends are welcome as well. if you have not the greenest of thumbs you are welcome to the video games, cards, whatever your afternoon fancy.

tis the garden from 1pm on until dark tomorrow, being Saturday the 17th - or as some of you like to call it St. Pattys.

good way to start your day off with some green and beer! those with allergies should medicate just in case, although well mostly be outside, mostly.
