3/2/03

it is the end of the weekend...my first weekend in frisco.

for the sake of brevity -- a list!:

all three kitties survived the flight with little or no sicky (pissy not taken into account in this mention)

the house is fucking awesome, and much bigger than anticipated

kitties + fenced yard = explorative fun!

    ethiopian food...bonus.

we can walk to sushi, indian grocery stores, good vibrations, an amazing breakfast/lunch bistro, antique stores, the bart (train to sf), a nummy and quite excellent cheese shop, an amazing bakery, the post office, two banks, four+ liquor stores, pakistani, indian and mexican restaurants and a plant nursery. man, who needs a car?

the next door neighbor saw my butt (on his way to welcome us to the neighborhood)

the berkeley bowl (psst...not a football thing, but a grocery with a multitude of fresh produce cheap!)

white elephant sale (nothing much for us)

our house has amazing light fixtures - art nouveau in every freakin room

we now own a washer (front loader) and dryer - sick.

our gas fireplace is the heater for the front of the house, heh. decorative and functional -- an excuse to have a "fire" every evening (well, when it is cold enough)

time to help the tt pack for tn.

*sigh*

three kitties on the bed. all three of them were snuggling just a moment ago. *shrug* this time last week they were running around while the final pack was taking place...big difference. tonight they lay on a futon in the middle of a bedroom toward the back of an empty apartment. i long for chairs and a table, a couch and perhaps some plates and pots. we need furniture for the kitties to climb up and perch, watching the humming birds fight over nectar.

i walked around the neighborhood today on my own, browsing the mexican and indian stores, and buying excellent cheese and madeira. today was also the arrival and installation of our washer and dryer -- i am afraid to use them, so pretty and clean they are (as pretty as a washer/dryer can be).

today was also my first day to work remotely (before the walk), this is going to be good. i hope they like the icons i create(?). we shall see. most of them are text anyhoo, so anything creative shall wain.

the three snoozing kitties on the bed inspire me to sleep. nini.

i am having an "m" dinner tonight...mangos and mushrooms (in garlic wine sauce -- the mushrooms, not the mangos, they are quite separate on my plate). when i am by myself i tend to eat a little strangely.

the kitties hate their new collars ...well, at least the pirate kitty. hate is perhaps too strong a word, it is more as if it confuses her and poses a constant itch that she cannot quite scratch correctly. she will cope, i suppose, after all she now gets to go outside. (must get distemper shots for them and such, and soon.) they are not allowed to leave the yard at the moment anyhoo -- a trend i would like to see well into the future. i understand the need for cats to hunt and kill as such, i just do not want them exposed to the dangers therein. we live a block away from two major roads and i shriek to think of finding any of them dead...or have them not return one evening, never to see them again. i cannot bare to think on it. newp.

change of subject.

our truck arrived today, huge and blue and full of boxes and furniture. i spent all day unpacking the kitchen, and strangely enough i forgot to eat. heh.
sither loaned us plates, glasses, pots, etc. so the last week was comfortable, but it is so wonderful to have the stuff back...even more wonderful to have less stuff back then we did a few months ago. we sold much of our stuff and waved it bibi as such, many of them in the good hands of our friends. spreadin' the love...spreadin' the love.

i hope the landlords decide three cats is an ok number...i asked them about it today, and they said two were acceptable. i am hoping that with the addition of an extra pet deposit, they may accept all three. i hope this more than mostly anything, anything at all. more than world peace, a new job and even vows. having the three kitties out in the open with the land lord is my second greatest hope of the day...the first being the safe return of the tt tonight from tn. i need him here, acclamation is too much to do alone. he also needs to be here for the flight from ca to tn is quite arduous.

i am nervous...the landlords are to call us back with their verdict. i am imploding/dying. i am crossing all fingers and toes.

i can hear the kitty fountain trickling from the kitchen.
