last friday - yes, friday - crazy day, expected hell day, dreaded day, DMV day - not so bad.

for some reason i find it difficult to believe what people tell me on the phone, i tend to call back a few days later to talk to someone elseto see if things have changed, have been processed/sent as they were supposed to be.
sadly, i have been proven right in my compulsion with this whole auto transfer process.

  • the loan company did NOT FEDex the title as they agreed to until i called again, again (after calling prior about six times over a month and being told many different and excruciating things.)
  • the DMV did require the car to be smogged for the transfer of ownership/title (each time i called the DMV i was given completely different and conflicting information.)

so friday - the day of truth - do i have everything? will this work?

i scheduled an emergency smog inspection earlier in the morning on friday (i called the dealer thursday at 4pm and they said they would see me at 7:30 friday, and no problems - ill tell you, they quell worries nicely) and after leaving tts wallet in the car and the how exactly do we pay for the freakin cab? fiasco we picked her up at noon and rushed off to the DMV.

our appointment was at 2:30at 2:45 we walked out of the building, title transfer, registration till 2005, and changed address license cards in handdumbfounded.
months and months of preparation for 15 min of sign here and there and and and

m/_ holy shit it rocked _m/

(wait, did i just say the DMV rocked?)

what to do on a friday afternoon after the DMV? wella bar crawl, of course. happy hour sake martinis and sangria, followed later by guinness and yegar certainly takes the edge off (they actually have yegarmeister dispensing machines - sick.)

many things to do around the house before merrydeaths visit and out house warming (ho-swarming?) party.
our first party in California, yay us.

i wonder if anyone will show
