we are now entering the fall, the rainy season of winter...breezy and chilly, full of fog and mist. *heart*

a few days ago...thursday... there was an earthquake in piedmont - the center of which is about 2 miles from where we live. the quake was a 3.9 - pretty big - and an hour or so later a 3.0 aftershock followed. i, alone and in my pjs, felt the house rumbling beneath my feet - watched as the speakers wobbled on their stands - wondered what first the kitties were doing in the basement, then 70 huge and out of proportion men, swinging their bulk against the foundation. it lasted about 10-15 sec. and caused no damage that i have noticed. imagine if you will NoahsArkatKennywood, the part where you walk along the bouncing floor - the earthquake was similar but a little bit more gentle.

they say there may be one like that before another 1989-like quake - part of the upper deck of the bay bridge collapsing, and most deaths after the actual quake (somehow people just kept on driving fast on the bridge, and consequently OFF of the bridge. it is interesting. i do not fear as much as perhaps I should, after all many people live here just fine, and as for an early earthquake inspired death, well, i can think of few better ways to die. natural catastrophe, yes, and no worries about aging. no problems.

mostly people just live live live here though. that quake may possibly be the biggest one I ever feel. I phoned sither and upon her absence talked to Hoffliebe about the quake - bigger than anything he has ever experienced, and he just felt the waves over there on the penninsila. woot! i thought it was fun, *shrug*

strange that people seems to stay younger longer here...many people i meet, who are totally cool and interesting, end up being in their late 30s. people going out and having fun, people who like good music and drink, people who do not have children and dress much younger than others almost 40 that i have seen back in suxburgh. it feels comfortable, and like home. the lady tap-dancing while waiting for the bart the other day, the horde of germans stretching their ripply legs across my path on the way to work, the golden-painted man in the park, toe rockers and rocker bars, the cheese store around the block, ...and now my formadibleopponent lives here! friends!

*dance*dance*

tt now has the outline of branches on his upper arm and shoulder. so sexy. i am impressed with the tattoo artist's skill, i am, and quite happy that the final design is a combination of two or three of my earlier drawings! it is my design come to life, and with a twist - there will be shading as if shining a spotlight on wet and dark winter woods. amazement and deliciousness. my boy has an amazing arm already, just think of how it will be in 4 more sessions...? mmm.

three years, 3, III, TREE years,...three years and an anniversary up in kalistoga (-k +c) on the WineTrain and the next morning in vats of mud followed by massage. what is it called on the WineTrain - surely not the mile high club, perhaps the mile long orperhaps the track club...*wink*...dirty and dirty. by the way, foisgras (i believe that is a completely incorrect spelling, by the way) can be amazingly delicious...throw in the grntle rocking of a train and you have something close to a tongue orgasm.

soon it will be halloween and we will have guests (no costumes for me, the queen of laziness, unfortunately. must think on next year, must think...).

time to walk over to the cheese store to get some dried sour cherries and walnuts for our pancakes...time for breakfast!
